- Seafood Mix
- Salt
- Seachem Safe
The ideal tank set up
If you have baby Discus in your tank, you want to cover the tank so that the Discus parents feel safe and comfortable.
You can darken the tank by placing some newspapers on the top. You can also cover the sides of the tank with some cloth to darken the environment further.
What should you feed the fry?
It’s important to feed the fry the right food so that they can grow in size and receive the correct nutrients and vitamins.
We feed our fish fry Hikari First Bites and the OZ Discus Seafood Mix.
How to perform a water change with fry
When you perform a water change and there are fish fry in the tank, you want to do everything slowly so that the fish parents feel safe and secure. The aim is to not startle the parents or cause any distress.
Place a net over the water outlet and encourage the Discus pair to move to the other side of the tank.
Slowly remove 50% of the water. Once the water has drained you can remove the net.
Slowly fill the tank back up and add salt and Seachem Safe into the tank.
Remember to close the tank lid and darken the tank again with your newspaper or coverings.
