What is Discus Fish?
Discus fish (scientific name: Symphysodon) is a cichlid native to the Amazon Basin in South America. It’s a freshwater species with a unique shape: round and flat.
There are hundreds of variations of Discus being tank-bred today. According to the World Discus Association, the following domestic categories are defined for Discus based on their genome: Blue, Red, Fine Spotted, Course Spotted, Pattern Brown, Pattern Yellow, Albino Discus, and Unclassifiable.
